Due to weather conditions it was decided the game would be better played over 5 x 8 min pitch time.
Straight from kick off, Puma’s had possession and looked dangerous. Ashley and Gianluca linked up early and worked very well together showing great pace to race clear of the defence over and over again. It was down to Gianluca for the first goal and he took it very well. Ashley was very heavily involved in Gianluca’s goals and with his awesome speed out ran riverside so many times I lost count.
Harvey who was having his debut for the team started to come into the game more and more and started to get involved with some great tackling. Harvey’s input in the game meant that Ashley was now free to push forward and it wasn’t long before Ashley had a goal of his own.
The three forwards played so well it showed what team work can do as we scored some great goals in the first period.
Meanwhile at the back Charlie and Eathon were using all the skill to keep the ball from hitting the back of the net. Charlie’s excellent positioning meant he could make great tackles by watching the ball all the time and tracking the runs of the players. He was very strong and it meant that we were limiting them to fewer shots. The shots did come from Riverside though but when they did it was Eathon that stood up tall and saved the ball!!
(ooohhh a Rhyme)
Eathon made saves with his hands, feet, arms and even his face. Cameron and Shaun came on in a swap for Ashley and Gianluca and carried on their good work. Shaun was playing very very well and had some great attempts on goal. The problem was that riversides keeper was also playing very well. Cameron was playing up front for the first time and his movement was good and it meant that the defenders for riverside couldn’t get the ball very easily, Cameron’s improvement is brilliant and it is obvious he is learning more and more.
The game went on we made a number of changes making sure that everyone had lots of pitch time and most importantly we all had lots and lots of fun.
Harvey showed lots of effort in our game and really played for the whole team and a little later in the match scored his first goal for the Puma’s. Harvey is to be a valuable member of the squad and that can be said of all of the members of the squad. Shaun had himself a couple of goals and had a really great game all round.
Showing determination and dedication, (mum or dad explain these words). Harvey grabbed a goal later on and was fully deserved. Charlie did his job as defender time and time again and Eathon's goal kicks helped us keep the ball in their half. Cameron continued to play really well and had a couple of shots toward the end that were well saved or blocked by Riverside. Ashley had also converted a penalty and his and Shaun’s corners were great through the game. Gianluca showed great skill and team play as he set up goals for Ashley Shaun and Harvey in the 3rd period. Shaun and Harvey’s pace throughout the game was amazing as was Charlie and Eathon, in fact The Park Farm Puma’s were all amazing were worthy of the result.
Well done guys.
