I am sending out this information again just to make sure we are all ok with the rules, format and what we need to do on the day.
- Is attendance confirmed with coach and all £5 per head paid up?
- Aware that Car park costs £2 per car which includes programme?
- I would recommend car sharing where possible?
- Help bringing the x2 Gazeboes & Pumas Banners to the venue?
- I would recommend we convoy there – meet at the clubhouse for 8am to get there for 8.30ish (to get a good pitch)
I have also come up with some do’s and Don’ts for the uninitiated (believe me this will be useful to all
Do
- Enjoy the day & do everything you can to make sure the players enjoys the day
- Encourage the players and support your team (in the correct way)
- Show RESPECT to opponents
- Show RESPECT to referees (they are volunteers and often young players themselves)
- Make new friends in football
- Ensure that you use the toilet facilities provided
- Bring Sun cream for you and the players
- Bring a fold away chair to sit down (it’s a long day)
- Bring a pack up lunch for players and for yourselves – (although there will be food available there as well)
- Bring plenty of fluids for the entire day - (although you will be able to buy drinks there)
- Bring an ice box to keep food/drink cool (if you have one)
- Please remember this is a great experience for the players
Do Not
-Abuse referees or club officials, either verbally or physically (Unfortunately this does occur on occasion – The club may have to ask people to leave if this happens)
-Abuse any individual either verbally or physically – (please remember that you are representing a club with a superb reputation and we would like to keep it that way)
-Consume alcohol in the vicinity of the Park Farm Pumas base for the day (if you want a drink there may be a bar area set up for that
purpose – my experience is that alcohol and football are not a good mix)
-Bring a Portable (or other) BBQ – You are not permitted to cook food at the event – Hot food will be sold at the event.
-Smoke in the vicinity of the Park Farm Puma base (we are concerned for the health of players & non smokers and also aware that the Gazeboes do not react well to a naked flame !!)
One more standing warning is that the event will be extremely busy. While Pumas coaches will be responsible for the welfare of players during games, it will be extremely difficult for them to watch all players and indeed siblings throughout the entire day. We would ask for help from all parents to ensure the safety of everyone of our young Pumas.
Please be vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour or concerns to a member of the Pumas coaching or management team on the day.
Sorry to be so prescriptive but I believe that it is useful to be as clear as possible for everyone. If you do have any questions please feel free to speak to Coach Stuart (our Tournament co-ordinator), Trevor (our Asst Welfare Officer) or Ciaran (Chairman).
It should be a great event, looking forward to seeing you all there.
Many Thanks
Ciaran
