It was with enormous pride that we saw our director of adult football Martin "Marv" Back presented this past weekend with the Outstanding Contribution to football award!

The award was presented by Arsenal legend Paul Merson at the annual general meeting of the Peterborough & District football league. Although a massive privilege it was reasonably funny to see Marv standing up there with Merse given the fact that Marv is a massive Spurs supporter ;-)

They both managed to get past this and Marv made the obligatory joke, so they both felt at ease and had a laugh about it.

Since joining Pumas around 4 or 5 years ago Marv has become an integral part of our leadership team. His infectious personality and constant positive outlook brought a much needed injection of new thinking to the club. With the support of a great team he has helped drive the adult section of the club forward and masterminded the clubs first County cup success as manager of our veterans team.

But not content with the success at the adult section,he has for the last year or so continued, week in, week out, to provide coaching to a young group of girls trying to get into the game that we all love.

Although Marv is taking a break from coaching one of our Saturday teams this coming season I have no doubt that he will continue to help drive this club forward by supporting the boys each & every matchday and at our Monday training sessions. He will also be on point for the veterans again this season and we have every confidence of more success and big things both on and off the pitch from the "gaffer."

A huge well done for this very well deserved award. We are extremely proud of you bud !
