For Park Farm Pumas FC Veterans, the 2025/26 campaign will forever be remembered as one of pride, resilience, unity and inspiration after both the Veterans 1st Team and Veterans Reserve Team secured their respective Peterborough & District Football League divisional titles.

In a remarkable achievement for the club, both squads finished the season as champions, highlighting the strength, togetherness and commitment that continues to drive the Park Farm Pumas Veterans section forward. The success marks a historic moment for the club and a fitting reward for the hard work put in by players, coaches and volunteers throughout the season.

Yet beyond the trophies and league tables, this title-winning campaign carried a much deeper emotional significance.

For Veterans Reserve Team Head Coach Vinny Price, this tail-end of the season has been played against the backdrop of a personal battle after recently being diagnosed with cancer. Throughout an incredibly difficult period, Vinny has remained a central figure within the club — continuing to inspire players, support teammates and embody the spirit that defines Park Farm Pumas FC.

The club, working alongside our friends at Netherton FC, are planning a charity match in support of Vinny demonstrating exactly what football at grassroots level is all about: community, friendship and standing together when it matters most.

Veterans 1st Team Coach and Club Director of Football Martin Back paid tribute to both teams’ achievements while reserving special praise for Vinny’s courage and influence.

“To see both our Veterans teams win their divisions in the same season is an unbelievable achievement and one every single player, coach and supporter should be immensely proud of. What makes it even more special is the togetherness that has carried us through the year.”

“Vinny has been an inspiration to everybody involved with this football club. Even while facing the toughest challenge of his life, he has continued to show incredible strength, positivity and dedication to his team and his friends around him. The lads have rallied around him brilliantly and I genuinely believe the spirit he has shown has driven everybody on.”

“These titles are about much more than football. They represent friendship, resilience, loyalty and the power of people coming together for one another. Everyone at Park Farm Pumas is behind Vinny every step of the way and we could not be prouder of what both teams have achieved this season.”

The celebrations following the title successes reflected not just sporting achievement, but the bond that exists across the entire club. From players and coaches to families, volunteers and supporters, the season has shown exactly why grassroots football remains such an important part of the local community.
