With storm Brian kicking in over this weekend & no doubt further inclement weather to come of the Autumn & Winter months I wanted to send a note out about games, particularly games at Fletton but also Cardea!

It is vitally important that we all (coaches, staff, players, parents, officials & opposition) be extremely vigilant in relation to the safety of everyone that will potentially be in attendance at Park Farm Pumas games.

Fletton in particular has a high risk of falling branches and/or trees during high wind & extreme weather conditions. This carries the potential to seriously damage property or put people in danger. We saw this last year when a large tree was felled on the site during a similar storm, thankfully with no damage to people or property.

Could I ask that we all ensure that we make ourselves aware of the risks and take appropriate action to ensure the safety of everyone that attends a Park Farm Pumas game. This could involve car sharing or finding alternative parking away from trees but moreover just generally looking out for dangers to ourselves and anyone else on site.

On the pitch areas it is also vitally important that a thorough pitch inspection is done before the players use the pitches. Removal of branches or any other debris is the responsibility us all before each game. The coach will not be able to do this by themselves. We need to be mindful that the areas we play football on are open to public use & indeed misuse and we MUST avoid players being injured due to debris. So please help by checking the playing surface for anything that could cause injury & remove it from the playing surface.

Hope that's all ok - If anyone can get down to Fletton in advance of your kick-off meeting times to do any of the prep work that would be great.

In the worst case scenarios where strong storm conditions and/or winds become a concern to safety Pumas staff will cancel games if absolutely necessary. This will be in extreme cases only and hopefully it won't be a problem for the most part.
